Wreath-It: App Logo Design

Daily UI Challenge Day 1: Logo Design

Christmas is just around the corner and I decided to create a festive app icon for my app: Wreath-It. The idea of Wreath-It is to decorate digital wreaths with the available tools/decorations provided in the app and share your creations among friends and family!

The Method:

I used Figma to create all the assets you see in the showcase. I could not find any greenery vectors that I liked, so I created my own leaves for the wreath design and layered the two colors (37 vectors!) until it became the wreath. The holly was created using the ellipse tool and the UIgradients plugin for the color gradient. As for the fairy lights, two ellipses and the mixed use of layer blur/drop shadow was used to create the whimsical glow effect. Lastly, the typography used for the title is ‘Mountains of Christmas’ found on the Google Font dictionary.

Thanks for coming by and Merry Christmas ’19!
